Welcome to JNightZ
What is JNightz?
JNightZ is a Monday through Friday overnight camp experience that offers children a unique adventure of fostering independence and living their best life, as they spend their week away from home at camp. JNightZ campers will spend their days on the Palm Beach Gardens Camp Shalom campus participating in all the fun that our day camp has to offer, such as swimming and boating, sports, special events, field trips and more. JNightZ campers will be bussed just five minutes down the street to the FAU North dorms in Jupiter for the overnight programming and lodging. JNightZ provides a fun packed evening schedule that includes camper’s choice activities, evening programs, additional trips, and special camp traditions. Beyond the fun, the immersive camp setting encourages personal growth, resilience, and essential life skills, making it an invaluable opportunity for children to build memories that last a lifetime.

JNightZ Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? Check out our FAQ section for more details about JNightZ, or contact us directly. We're here to make sure you have all the information you need.
When is drop off and pick up?
Campers will be dropped off at the Mandel JCC, Palm Beach Gardens on Mondays at 9:00 am and will be picked up on Friday at 4:00 pm.
We normally go to the Mandel JCC in Boynton Beach, can my child participate in JNightZ?
Yes! We will be offering transportation from the Mandel JCC, Boynton Beach up to Palm Beach Gardens on Monday mornings and returning to Boynton Beach on Friday afternoons.
What if I only want to send my camper for a partial session?
In order to receive an accurate taste of the overnight camp experience, you will be required to select a minimum of one full session. Campers can attend multiple sessions, but must stay for the entirety of the session’s weeks.
What will my camper do during the day?
JNightZ campers will get to choose from Camp Shalom’s traditional or sports camp program during the day. Both programs include swimming, field trips, special events, and more!
Will my child’s day camp group be the same as their JNightZ group?
JNightZ campers will have a day camp group at the Mandel JCC that may consist of both JNightZ campers and day-camp-only campers. These groups are created based on interest (traditional vs sports), as well as age/grade, and friend requests. Although, your child may have some of the same children in their JNightZ group, it is not a guarantee. If you have a specific friend request, please note that at the time of registration.
My child wants to participate in JNightZ, but wants to be with a friend during the day who is not attending JNightZ, can they still be together?
Yes! Day group requests and night group requests will be different, so your child can be with their friends who aren’t attending JNightZ, as well as their friends who are!
Will my child have the same counselor during the day and at night?
Campers will have different day counselors and night counselors, since campers will be in a different day group and a night group. However, we will make sure that both counselors are aware of any needs your child may have.
Can I see my camper during the week?
In order for your JNightZ camper to get the most out of their experience, we ask that once you drop off on Monday morning that you don’t see your camper until you pick up on Friday afternoon. Campers should not be picked up for doctors’ appointments, tutors, sporting events etc.
What if my child gets homesick?
It is only natural for some campers to get homesick, especially those who have never been away from home before. The JNightZ staff will be trained on how to handle those campers who are homesick. Our staff will be in touch with you if we feel it necessary.
Can I communicate with my camper during the week?
You will be able to mail letters or small packages and email your camper daily. Campers will have the opportunity once a week to send a note home via email. Parents and children will not be able to speak on the phone throughout the week. Again, our staff will communicate with you as needed.
How many campers will be in a room?
There will be 3 - 4 campers in each dorm room. The dorm rooms are suites with a common area, 4 separate bedrooms, a shared bathroom with a sink and shower, and another shared bathroom with a sink and toilet.
