THE MANDEL JCC ANNOUNCES BRAND NEW SWIM PROGRAM, JSWIM

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (NOVEMBER 15, 2016) - The Mandel JCC, Palm Beach Gardens announced this month the launch of JSwim. A multifaceted swim program, it provides swim lessons for babies to adults in group and private capacities, as well as water aerobics classes, lap swimming, pool parties, and more. In 2017, the JCC will kick off JSwim Team for those looking to compete.

The new program will be led by Aquatics Director, Victoria Miel. With over two decades of experience lifeguarding and teaching water safety, Miel has worked with a variety of top universities including Florida Gulf Coast and Florida International. Most recently she was employed by the city of Miami as the Aquatics Facility Operator, Lifeguard and Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructor.

Whittney Warner, Assistant Aquatics Director has been a part of the aquatics industry for 14 years. Prior to joining the Mandel JCC, she was a coach, instructor, lifeguard, aqua fitness instructor, and competitive swimmer.

Both women are excited about what they can bring to the Mandel JCC team. “I’ve always loved the water and have been swimming since before I can remember. Learning to swim is crucial and I hope that we can help raise awareness about the importance of swim lessons. But I also hope that we can create a culture that makes the JCC pool a safe and fun place for the whole family,” says Miel. “We have an incredible team of certified and experienced instructors but what makes us unique is our focus on overall wellbeing. We’re the place where you’re going to bring your child for swim lessons, where you’ll get or keep in shape, or just where you can relax with your friends on the weekends. It’s a place for all ages, backgrounds, ability levels and interests.”

The Mandel JCC’s heated pool features a specific three-foot deep “learn to swim” zone that is ideal for swim lessons as well as water aerobics classes. In addition, the pool area also has a spray ground featuring buckets, activities and a beachfront entrance perfect for young children and those with physical handicaps. The 75-foot long pool also features four lanes for lap swimming.
